Main Characters

Story Summary

Fatima gets caught up in a wrong relationship with Sufiyan, which leaves her mentally disturbed. Looking for peace, she turns to her classmate Qurat-ul-Ain, who introduces her to the Quran and prayer. When she ends things with Sufiyan, he takes revenge by sending edited pictures of her to her family. Fatima faces harsh treatment from her mother and brother but bears it all patiently, following Qurat-ul-Ain's advice on "beautiful patience."

When Fatima starts wearing full niqab, her family strongly opposes her — calling her names and even locking her in her room. But she stays firm, and eventually her patience and prayers soften her mother's heart. Meanwhile, Shahryar completely changes his life under Maaz's guidance and marries Qurat-ul-Ain in a simple, dowry-free wedding based only on her faith.

Later, Fatima is diagnosed with advanced liver cancer. She goes to Canada for treatment and, despite immense pain, spends her final days spreading Islamic teachings to non-Muslims there. Her sincerity even leads a nurse and a family to accept Islam. She eventually passes away peacefully while reciting the Kalima, and her example inspires her sister-in-law Zonisha to start wearing the veil too.
