Story Summary

Unlike a typical ruthless feudal lord, Abbas — an educated, principled lawyer — refuses to treat Hurrah as a punishment and vows to give her the respect and love she deserves as his lawful wife.

Despite his efforts, Hurrah suffers abuse and conspiracies at the hands of Abbas's mother and aunt, who want him to marry his childhood fiancée instead. Framed and endangered, Hurrah eventually flees with her daughter to protect herself. Abbas searches for her relentlessly while uncovering the real truth behind his sister's murder — a betrayal from someone he trusted.

In the end, Abbas reunites with Hurrah and their daughter, brings them home with full honor, and as the new village leader, bans the practice of Vanni for good.
